Why We Built Greenpath Counseling: Because "Parenting Burnout" Shouldn't Be the Norm.

We built Greenpath Counseling because, as parents ourselves, we know exactly how it feels to be pulled in a million directions. And what it’s like to feel like you’re failing at it all!

Little kids need you physically; the snacks, the scraped knees, the endless laundry. As they get older, the needs shift; now they need you mentally and emotionally. They need a driver, a coach, and someone to magically produce a new uniform or pimple patches at 9:00 PM.

When Parenthood Gets Heavy

Maybe your child has a diagnosis. You’re overwhelmed juggling IEP meetings, doctor appointments, and how your kid’s needs affect the whole family.

Or maybe there is no diagnosis, but your "spidey-sense" is tingling. You see the ways they differ from their peers. You notice the lack of friends or the slipping grades. You see them retreating into their rooms. You’re waiting for a shoe to drop, but you aren't sure which one.

You’re constantly worried about what the future will look like.

The Mental Load of "Keeping it on Track"

The mental load of keeping the entire household on track can leave you feeling unfamiliar to yourself. Unrecognizable, even.

You might find yourself:

  • More irritable and anxious than you used to be.

  • Resentful of the endless "to-do" list.

  • Lonely, even when the house is full of people.

A New Path Forward

Oof. It’s a lot. .We created our space in Bloomfield, New Jersey because parenting and midlife shouldn't feel like a solo marathon you’re losing. Whether you need support for your child or a space to find yourself again, we’re here to help you navigate the path forward.

Our Core Beliefs

Greenpath Counseling started from the understanding that life gets “lifey”–messy, unpredictable, sometimes overwhelming. Life is full of tough transitions and challenging moments that we need support for.

We also believe that it’s not easy being a person. Every person is a universe, and sometimes that feels lonely and confusing.

We support the families to be more connected and strong so that when life gets lifey, everyone has more tools for coping.

What "Help" Actually Looks Like Here

Asking for help is an act of courage and hope. We see you and know what it takes to reach out and are glad you did! This is a judgement-free opportunity to connect with people on the journey alongside you. We have lots of education and experience, but we are in it too.

Working with you and/or your kids to create a different outcome–better boundaries and communication, and more peace. You will leave sessions with more resources and perspective.
